Very unhelpful, especially as host is reachable and can be accessed remotely, just not when trying to access it on port 80 (http). I would have thought that this was some other issue, but our WSUS management servers will not sync up with each other through the site-to-site VPN either because they talk over port 80 (http).

VPN on port 53 = Bypass pretty much any wifi login page/captive portal. but operate an iodine server on the same machine so that I can run OpenVPN over it when needed. Iodine will be a little to a lot slower, but will get through almost any captive portal, because so few of them block DNS queries. like port 80, is intercepted by captive
That agony has been solved for me. I found out that what was taking over port 80 is http api service. I wrote in cmd: net stop http Asked me "The following services will be stopped, do you want to continue?" Pressed y . It stopped a number of services actually.
